LET'S GET TOGETHER
How/where they met: Shane saw Molly first at Phyllis's pool party in 506 Molly didn't see her. They properly had the first talk in 507.

What is the state of their current relationship/friendship? Unresolved but will reunite soon, yeah!!

Strengths as a couple: - Molly brings out the best in Shane. Shane has become happier and more ambitious since meeting Molly.
- They balance each other out. Molly's witty sarcasm is a perfect match for Shane's cool non-chalant attitude.
- The first time that Shane has been smitten by a girl... She read Proust and New York Times... She is cuter and all smiley when someone mentioned Molly.

Struggles as a couple: - Molly goes to school in Vermont.
- Shane let Phyllis convince her that she was not worthy of Molly, causing Shane to break up with her.

Reasons they should be together: Never in this show has Shane been so happy. Molly is the perfect partner for Shane. Shane began to think about her future (photography classes) because of Molly.

Scenes fans might like to see:
1.)Shane flies across the country to Molly

2.)Shane and Molly confess their love for each other

3.)Shane and Molly made up and made love

4.)Shane enrolls at the same school Molly goes to and begins taking photography classes to prove to Molly that she is in it for the long haul.

5.)Shane and Molly adopt Chinese babies and they live in a trailer park ( just joking, but that's a good idea ).

THE BUILDUP
Carefully follow their interactions through the seasons and record the evidence and quotes that point to a relationship.
Meant-to-be couple - aka Sholly - The L WordSEASON FIVE
In episode 506, Shane sees Molly at her mother's party, unaware of who she is. She asks Alice who she is and comments that she thinks she is cute.

In episode 507, Bette takes Molly to the Les Girls film set, where Shane and Molly talk for the first time. Later, Shane takes Molly to Lesbian Turkish Oil Wrestling at SheBar when they go searching for Niki who has left the set. Much to Shane's surprise, Molly has a great time there. When Shane goes to get Molly a drink, Dawn Denbo throws Molly into the ring to get back at Shane for sleeping with her lover, Cindi. When Shane sees this, she jumps into the ring to fight for her girl!

In episode 508, Shane tells Jodi that she likes Molly and Jodi suggests that she bring her to a dinner party at her loft. Later that afternoon, both Shane and Molly are at The Planet. Shane is talking to Kit while Molly is finishing lunch with her mother. When Phyllis says some not so nice things about Shane, Molly gets up and tells her mother that she is "going to gay for Shane. We're going to adopt Chinese babies and live in a trailer park!" She saunters over to Shane and asks her if she will see her later. Shane is surprised to see Molly as she didn't return her phone call earlier. She tells Molly to call her and that she looks forward to hearing her phone ring. Later that evening, Shane and Molly are at Jodi's dinner party. They discuss Richard, Molly's boyfriend, and go outside for a cigarette. They share their FIRST kiss! Molly freaks out and asks Shane to take her home.

In episode 509, a heat wave has hit WeHo. Shane is clearly upset with what has transpired with Molly. She tells Jenny that she has "a straight girl crush that won't go away." Later that afternoon, while filming Alice's podcast, Molly shows up to see Shane with her boyfriend in tow. Shane is clearly frazzled by Richard's appearance in WeHo. That evening, Molly calls Shane and asks her to come over because the lights keep going out due to the rolling black outs. She tells Shane that she sent Richard back to Vermont. When Shane shows up at Molly's, Molly confesses that she wants to be with Shane. They make love for the first time. Molly is unsure about how to go down on Shane, so Shane offers to show her again. Just as she does, Phyllis walks in and interrupts them. Molly goes out to talk to her mother who is upset that Molly was with Shane. She calls Shane uneducated and Molly says that its okay. She likes Shane because she's simple and easy. Shane hears all this and is visibly hurt.

In episode 510, Molly chases Shane up to the Pacific Northwest for the Subaru Pink Ride. At first, Shane does not want anything to do with Molly, even though Molly tries to explain herself. Shane takes off on her bike. When Molly catches back up to her, she challenges Shane to a race to the next pitstop. If Shane wins, she goes home. If she wins, Shane has to listen to her.
As they are getting to the pit stop, Molly, realizing she is about to lose, yells out "I love you" to Shane, causing her to stop. Molly cycles past her and wins the race. She tells Shane that she won so she has to listen to her. Molly says, "I don't know if I'm gay. I don't know if I'm straight. But I know I want to be with you." Shane protests, saying that the sex was terrible, but Molly insists that it was great for her, better than with anyone else. She says she freaked out but that it was because it was her first time and she swears that "Next time, I will so go down on you!" Shane says that Molly is making a scene and accuses her of just using her to get back at her mother. Molly denies it and says that she is really crazy about Shane and asks her for another chance. Unable to resist how cute Molly is being, Shane smiles the most genuine smile she has has ever smiled on the show. Molly then says one of the best lines in history of The L Word..."
I know that I’m still Gay 101 but I’m a really fast learner. And before you know it I’m going to be Advanced Placement Gay and then Graduate-Level Gay. And fuck Law School, I’ll get my doctorate in fucking gay.” Shane can't resist Molly any longer and closes the distance between them and kisses Molly! Jenny, Niki, Alice, Tasha and Kit all cheer them on!
Later that day, at the campsite, Molly pokes fun at Shane's Costco tent and then they play a practical joke on Jenny and Niki. Shane pulls one of the ropes holding up the tent causing it to collapse on them. She and Molly run off. They are soooo cute together!! That night, Molly bribed the driver of the SAG truck to let her and Shane have some privacy because Molly didn't want to have "advanced placement lesbian sex in [Shane's] shitty runt tent!" They make out for a while and Molly holds up her promise from earlier that day...she goes down on Shane! Shane gives her a little piece of advice first..."Breathe through your mouth!"

In 511 (deleted scene), Shane and Nikki talked a little bit about Molly, Nikki said that Molly was a blast and Shane replied "yeah she is a good girl". Begonia (is that wat her name is??) saw a Proust book and looked over it - Shane really got it bad for Molly, earlier she read New York Times in the Planet when they had a grouphang thing ( anybody, before Molly appeared, would have thought that Shane would read Proust... I did NOT,definitely!!). Also, Shane smiled her cute little half smile when Begonia mentioned about Molly went on the bike trip with Shane.

In 512, the season finale, Shane is taking pictures of Molly while she sleeps. Shane crawls into bed behind her and kisses her back to wake her up. They kiss but Shane says that they need to get up because they have breakfast with her mother. Shane looks beyond smitten with Molly in this scene. It's quite obvious that she has fallen for Molly. On their walk to the restaurant, Shane tells Molly that she wants to get in to fashion photography. They discuss Shane going to school to learn technique. Molly says she doesn't think Shane needs school, but any school that didn't take her would be stupid.
They kiss, but Shane pulls back as she sees Phyllis and Joyce watching them. Molly doesn't want to have breakfast with Joyce since she is bitter that Joyce tried to ruin her father. Shane calms her down and gets her to sit down with them. At breakfast, Molly tells her mother that she is not going to take her Supreme Court internship because she is going surfing with Shane in Hawaii. Shane is surprised to learn that the internship is in the summer, but realizes that it is wise to not get in the middle of the argument. Molly tells her mother that she has accepted her life choices and hopes that she can do the same for her.
Later that day, they go to Jodi's opening at the Hammer Museum. Phyllis wants to talk to Shane. SHe tells Shane that she is not worthy of Molly and Shane avows that she is crazy about her and won't hurt her. Phyllis confronts Shane with some hurtful things that Bette and Alice have said about her and she gets to Shane.
That night, at SheBar, Shane and Molly break up. Shane is holding Molly close to her as they dance slowly to a fast upbeat song. She runs her back, saying a silent goodbye before she pulls away and asks Molly to get her a drink. While Molly is doing so, Shane flirts with another girl in the club. When Molly returns and calls Shane on it, Shane says that they need to "get real. We had fun but you are going back to school in a week." Molly tells Shane that she knows what she is doing..."You're freaking out and you're scared. And you owe it to me and to you to give this a chance." Shane says that she never promised her anything. Molly, though, begs to differ. She says that the kisses and hugs in bed that morning were promises. Shane says that she must have misunderstood her then. She can't look Molly in the eyes though and turns away. The pain is evident in her eyes. Molly asks if this is where girls throw their drinks in her face. Shane says that some do. But Molly says she won't. She says that Shane derserves compassion and that she wishes her luck figuring her shit out and that when she does, hopefully she will still be there. She hands Shane her drink and leaves with dignity. Shane sharply inhales and looks down at her drink, clearly upset at letting Molly go.
The next day, in typical Shane fashion, she sets out on her path of self destruction. She runs into Niki at the Les Girls wrap party and they talk. She tells Niki that "fucked up something really great last night. I got ahead of myself. I did something...I envisioned this future and I was wrong. It was all wrong." They talk some more and end up kissing. Shane goes down on Niki and then Jenny walks in on them.

In season 6, will the Sholly love story continue?? Ilene, if you are reading this, please bring Clementine Ford back as Molly and finish the wonderful romance that you have started for Shane and Molly! They belong together!

knightsofstjoan2004 Shane and Molly: A Love Lost and Found 10 Oct 15 2010, 7:25 AM EDT by laurence37190

Molly was Shane's true and real love interest and what they have in common is they have a genuine fondness and affection for each other. Although the break up between Shane and Molly was caused by the cruel words of Molly's mother, Phyllis Kroll which led Shane to flirt with another woman in front of Molly and even though she was hurt, Molly handled the situation gracefully telling Shane that she deserved compassion. Molly really cares for Shane and her love letter which is for Shane expressing her love for her would fix and repair their broken relationship and Shane would have the chance to reconcile with her. Molly learned about the cause of their break up and had to deal and confront with her mother. During her conversation with Jenny, Molly stated that her mother was a raging ***** and played on every part of Shane's insecurity saying that she's not good enough for her and not worthy of her, and said that she won't let her do anything like that to the woman she truly and really loved. Jenny blocked Shane's opportunity of reconciling with Molly by hiding the letter in her attic so she could have Shane and did not bother mentioning to Shane that Molly had dropped by and had returned the jacket with the letter in it. And because of Jenny's silence about Molly's visit and hiding the letter, Shane lost her, although Jenny was silent about Molly's visit and hid the letter in the attic for three months, Shane had a run-in with Molly in a store leading her to uncover the hidden love letter in the attic and did the right thing to end her relationship with Jenny for sure and for good. Shane was sitting on the steps looking numbly wide-eyed and expressionless thinking about Molly and it was her all along and she would not loose her again, and had to realize that her relationship with Jenny was unhealthy and not appropriate and was wrong and is not meant to be. Shane must reconcile with Molly and they should be together now.

knightsofstjoan2004 The truth about Jenny's heart 0 Jul 29 2009, 11:31 AM EDT by knightsofstjoan2004
Thread started: Jul 29 2009, 11:31 AM EDT  Watch
Jenny made a statement at the Lez Girls wrap up party that she is madly in love with someone and she was refering to Shane. She caught her seducing Nikki then she turned around walking away saying to Shane "You've broken my heart", if Jenny thinks that Shane has broken her heart she is dead wrong because the truth is that Jenny's heart is not meant for Shane and Shane's heart is not meant for Jenny. Long before the Lez Girls wrap up party, Molly was Shane's true and real love interest and what they have in common is they have a genuine fondness and affection for each other. Although the break up between Shane and Molly was caused by the cruel words of Molly's mother, Phyllis Kroll which led Shane to flirt with another woman in front of Molly and even though she was hurt, Molly handled the situation gracefully telling Shane that she deserved compassion. Molly really cares for Shane and her love letter which is for Shane expressing her love for her would fix and repair their broken relationship and Shane would have the chance to reconcile with her, but instead Jenny hid the letter in her attic so she could have Shane and that shows how selfish she is. The conclusion is that Shane's breaking of Jenny's heart is only an illusion because the truth is they never have a genuine fondness and affection for each other and breaking up with Nikki and being madly in love and getting involved with Shane was a huge mistake that Jenny made. Since Jenny's love for Shane is a forbidden love and their relationship and involvement is completely inappropriate and totally unhealthy, there shall be no marriage proposal of Jenny to Shane.
