Invitation to The Daily Yomiuri Archives

The Yomiuri Shimbun provides an online database of Daily Yomiuri articles. The monthly fee for an individual user is ¥1,575, including tax. Fees for organizational users, such as libraries and universities, start from ¥10,500, including tax, per month.

In September 1989, The Yomiuri Shimbun started storing selected Daily Yomiuri articles, such as editorials and stories that help readers understand Japanese society--including politics, business, local news and sports--on the database.

In June 1992, The Yomiuri Shimbun started to store almost all Daily Yomiuri articles, except for radio and television listings and stock quotations on the database.

Articles provided by outside organizations, such as The Washington Post and Los Angeles Times, without secondary use permission are not stored on the database.

An individual user can access The Daily Yomiuri Archives through most Internet service providers.

For a monthly fee of ¥1,575, an individual user can access The Daily Yomiuri Archives, and The Yomiuri Shimbun article database and the Who's Who database(in Japanese).

The rate for educational institutes, libraries and private corporations to access The Daily Yomiuri Archives, The Yomiuri Shimbun article database and the Who's Who database varies depending on access conditions.

The Daily Yomiuri Archives offers prospective organizational users a trial program free of charge.
