Phillip Jones to join MT for 2012-13 season
MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Mississippi high school basketball standout Phillip Jones has signed a National Letter of Intent to play for Middle Tennessee next season, announced head coach Kermit Davis on Thursday. Jones averaged 27 points, 12 rebounds and three blocks for Piney Woods High School during his senior campaign.

Blue Raider head coach rakes in another postseason award
CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. - Middle Tennessee men’s basketball head coach Kermit Davis has been named the Tennessee Sports Writers Association Coach of the Year as voted on by association members. Davis’ Blue Raiders posted a school-record 27 wins and advanced to the quarterfinals of the National Invitation Tournament (NIT).

New contract runs through 2016-17
MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Middle Tennessee State University and Head Men’s Basketball Coach Kermit Davis have agreed in principle on a new five-year contract as announced Wednesday by Director of Athletics Chris Massaro. Davis’ contract will run through the 2016-17 season.

Senior earned start in both contests
PORTSMOUTH, Va. - Blue Raider senior LaRon Dendy made an early impression in his first game as part of the Portsmouth Invitational Tournament on Wednesday, scoring a game-high 15 points for the K&D; Rounds Landscaping team. Dendy earned a start in the contest and also recorded five rebounds in 28 minutes of action.

6-7 forward led Northwest Florida to NJCAA title game
MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Middle Tennessee men’s basketball head coach Kermit Davis announced the signing of Neiko Hunter to a National Letter of Intent on Wednesday afternoon. Hunter will join the Blue Raiders as a junior for the 2012-13 campaign after an outstanding career at Northwest Florida State College.
