Women's golf finishes sixth at Marilynn Smith Sunflower Invitational
Love paces Blue Raiders on final day

LAWRENCE, Kan. - The Blue Raider women's golf team wrapped up the Marilynn Smith Sunflower Invitational hosted by the University of Kansas with a sixth-place finish on Tuesday.
Middle Tennessee recorded a 325 on the final day to finish with a total of 951 (+87), placing the Blue Raiders in a three-way tie with New Mexico State and Illinois State. Kansas took home top team honors with a 906 (+42), Arkansas State finished second (927, +63) and Kansas State rounded out the top three (928, +64).
ASU's Abigail Laker registered a 213 (-3) to earn medalist honors. Kansas' T. Boonraksasat finished second with a 221 (+5) and UALR's Emelie Westrup and North Dakota State's Amy Anderson tied for third one stroke behind (222, +6).
Olivia Love's 79 on the final day moved her a stroke ahead of Ashley Haggard and into a tie for 18th. Love carded a 236 (+20), while Haggard tied for 22nd with a 237 (+21). Emily Williams matched Haggard with a 237 playing as an individual.
Avery George tied for 33rd with a 240 (+24), Allie Knight tied for 45th (244, +28) and Emily Miller tied for 49th (245, +29) to round out the scoring for MT.
The Blue Raiders will take a two-week hiatus from action before returning to the links Oct. 15-17 at the Susie Maxwell Berning Classic hosted by the University of Oklahoma. MT will play 54 holes over the three days at the Jimmie Austin OU Golf Course in Norman, Okla.
