13 August: The Duke of York today visited Thurso Golf Club, Thurso, and was received by Her Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant for Caithness (the Viscount Thurso).

The Queen, accompanied by the Duke of Edinburgh, today visits the Royal Aberdeen Workshops for the Blind and the Disabled. The Princess Royal, Patron, All England Women's Lacrosse Association, today attends the 1993 Lacrosse World Cup Final, Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh.
