Letter: The monarchy will survive scandals
I AM sorry to disappoint so dedicated a royal-watcher as Lynn Barber, but the first Hanoverian king, George I, was already divorced when he came to the throne, and ruled Great Britain for a good dozen years.
So if the jeers and pressures of the modern media do succeed in putting an intolerable strain on the Waleses' marriage this will have no fundamental constitutional implication.
