Magritte (Hayward, 071-928 8800, to 2 Aug). Most of his favourite tricks, and some more surprising surprises.
Manet and the Execution of Maximillian (National Gallery, 071-839 3526, to 27 Sept). A survey of Manet's treatment of politics and violence, based on the three beautifully cool Executions.
Antoni Tapies: Writing on the Wall (Serpentine Gallery, 071-402 6075, to 9 Aug). Expressively dilapidated wall- like pictures, inspired by being shut up during the Spanish Civil War.
Rembrandt Drawings (British Museum, 071-580 1788, to 4 Aug). Sketches and studies. Not to be missed. T L
