DINAH HALL's letter to Air France was either a bribe or a threat. Why else say 'and, by the way, I'm a journalist'? ('Fraud Provencal: or, the case of the phantom gte', Real Life, 12 July.)
Try substituting 'trading standards officer' or 'civil servant' for 'journalist' and ask yourself how you, Sir, as a journalist would react?
Or is Ms Hall's attitude part of the price we pay for having a free press?
Yours sincerely, (and, by the way, I'm a reader).
