This year looks like being one of the best for a while. At the National Gallery on the Mound, Constable's Clouds presents the most informal and appealing side of one of the greatest landscape painters: Constable the weatherman.

At the National Gallery of Modern Art on Belford Road, The Private Klee brings more than 130 works by Paul Klee for the only British showing of a private Swiss collection of work by this most magical, mystical, 20th-century artist.

Smaller shows worth tracking down include Jon Schueler, a reappraisal of the great American Abstract Expressionist at my gallery, and the inventive "Dislocation of the Chair" at the Matthew Architecture Gallery - a clever student's discovery and rescue of a number of bashed-up design classics lurking in the University library.
