EVANDER HOLYFIELD and Lennox Lewis, whose drawn encounter in New York on 13 March caused a storm of debate, will fight again for the undisputed world heavyweight championship at Las Vegas in November, it was confirmed yesterday.

Park Place Entertainment, a leading resort and casino organisation, announced that the rematch would be part of a six-fight deal with the promoter Don King. The fight will take place at one of Park Place's Las Vegas properties or in a joint venture with another casino on the strip.

In addition to the six fights, King and Park Place agreed to another 12 bouts to be broadcast around the world via pay-per-view television.

"A deal such as this between Park Place and Don King Productions is a perfect match of Las Vegas market giants," King said. "It gives Park Place the flexibility to do these fights at any of its properties or in a joint venture with other casinos, while providing Don King Productions with continuity that we need for programming."

The Scarborough featherweight Paul Ingle is hoping to find out in the next few days whether he has landed a world title fight against the American, Junior Jones.

Ingle's manager, Frank Maloney, has contacted the American television cable network Home Box Office to try and work out a deal that would see Ingle face Jones in the States in the autumn, possibly on the undercard of a Naseem Hamed fight.

HBO was impressed with Ingle's performance in defeat against Hamed last month and said it was interested in securing a deal. Ingle was hoping to defend his commonwealth crown in his home town against Liverpool's Alex Moon on 10 July, but he failed to come through a fitness test on his right ankle which he hurt in the Hamed clash.
