GARY LINEKER, the former England captain, made his first appearance in the J League since September, as a late substitute for Nagoya Grampus Eight in yesterday's 1-0 win over Sanfrecce Hiroshima. Lineker has recovered from a broken toe. Zico, the former Brazilian international, marked his retirement from playing with a goal for Kashima Antlers in a 2-1 win over Jubilo Iwata.
