The Queen’s courturier has starting producing medical scrubs for NHS workers on the frontline of the coronavirus outbreak.

Stewart Parvin, who has been the monarch’s dressmaker for more than 10 years, has been using the materials he already has at home to design blue scrubs for staff at Frimley Park Hospital in Surrey.

“Our first set of scrubs are ready to be dropped off for @frimleyhealth,” Parvin tweeted.

“If you would like to get involved as a home sewer, or as a business with work space, there are several groups set up that are co-ordinating the effort,” he added.

Parvin shared several photographs of his designs, revealing he had made a short-sleeved blue top with a pair of matching trousers that have a white drawstring.

In a subsequent tweet, Parvin thanked those who have been working for the NHS during the pandemic.

“As ever, our most grateful thanks to all those risking their own health and working tirelessly to look after and protect us all,” he wrote.

The Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust, which oversees Frimley Park hospital alongside two others, said it is very grateful to Parvin for the scrubs.

“Our main reason for needing more scrubs is that we have repositioned a lot of our staff to different areas of the hospitals, so to have the extra stock is terrific,” a spokesperson told The Sunday Times.

Parvin has designed many significant looks for the Queen, including the outfit she wore to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's wedding in May 2018.

The luxury brand has also revealed that it will use its global supply chain to fast track the delivery of over 100,000 surgical masks for use by medical staff.
