Loose Women has been praised after featuring a panel of four black presenters.

Thursday’s episode of the show (22 October) saw Charlene White serve as the ITV talk show’s lead presenter, while Judi Love, Brenda Edwards and Kéllé Bryan joined her on the panel.

Viewers shared their support for the episode on social media, commenting that it was “refreshing” to see Loose Women featuring a panel entirely made up of black women for once.

“Today’s #LooseWomen panel. You love to see it!,” one viewer wrote, sharing a picture of the presenters.

“All black panel on @loosewomen, what a moment…,” another commented.

Many fans pointed out that the moment was particularly poignant as it happened during Black History Month.

“So refreshing to turn my telly on and see four beautiful black women running the show,” one viewer tweeted. “Things have a long way to go but this is a great start, never in my life have I seen this happen on a major network.”

“For anyone moaning, would you also be asking why if they had an all white panel?” another fan responded. “Good to hear perspectives on telly that have been regularly excluded for years.”

“I don’t believe people understand how much seeing four black women enjoy themselves on this platform means to young black women like me,” another viewer commented, thanking ITV and the panel for allowing them to feel represented.

The episode was equally as emotional for the presenters, with host White writing on social media after the episode: “Yep we made history today. And when the cameras stopped rolling, I burst into tears.”
