Tom Holland says Spider-Man 3 is the ‘most ambitious standalone superhero movie ever made’
‘You sit down, read the script, and see what they’re trying to do, and they’re succeeding,’ he said
Tom Holland has claimed thatSpider-Man 3 is going to be “the most ambitious standalone superhero movie ever made”.
The actor has been working on the film, which is a follow-up to 2019’s Far From Home, since production began at the end of 2020.
Speaking to Variety, Holland, who was naturally tight-lipped about the project, let slip a few teasers about the film.
“I can say that it’s the most ambitious standalone superhero movie ever made,” he said. “You sit down, read the script, and see what they’re trying to do, and they’re succeeding. It’s really impressive. I’ve never seen a standalone superhero movie quite like it.”
He continued: “And I’m just, you know, again, that lucky little s*** who happens to be Spider-Man in it.”
Explaining that production was now starting again after the Christmas break, Holland added: “I’m just as excited as everyone else to see it, let alone be a part of it.”

It comes after the 24-year-old issued an exciting warning to fans regarding the forthcoming film on Instagram.
Earlier this week, Holland wrote that he had just completed filming scenes that he called “easily one of the highlights of my career”.
“For those of you that were there, you know what I’m talking about and for those of you that weren’t, you better buckle up!!!” he commented.
Spider-Man 3 is currently scheduled for UK release on 17 December 2021.
