After much speculation, Kensington Palace has revealed that Meghan Markle will be walked down the aisle at St George’s Chapel by her father when she marries Prince Harry on May 19.
Thomas Markle will arrive in the UK with Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland, in the week before the wedding so that they can get to know the Royal Family in the run up to the big day.
And, the statement from Kensington Palace states, both parents will play “important roles” in the wedding: “Ms. Ragland will travel with Ms. Markle by car to Windsor Castle.
“Mr. Markle will walk his daughter down the aisle of St George’s Chapel. Ms. Markle is delighted to have her parents by her side on this important and happy occasion.”
It was also announced that all three of Diana, Princess of Wales’ siblings will be in attendance at the wedding and Lady Jane Fellowes, one of Princess Diana’s two older sisters, is to give a reading.
Other details revealed include the fact that the bride is due to arrive at her accommodation on the evening of Friday 18.
There will also be much more transport than usual available to the public, including extra trains, park and walk and park and float services.

In the centre of Windsor on the day, there will be:
A 6,000 space pre-booked car parking area at the Review Ground, just off the Long Walk Food stalls and facilities, including big screens showing live footage of the wedding and Procession, on the Long Walk and in Alexandra Gardens Viewing areas along the whole Procession Route (Castle Hill, High Street, Sheet Street, Kings Road, Albert Road and the Long Walk) A team of 140 Royal Borough Ambassadors stewarding the event and assisting visitors throughout the day The town centre will be decorated with bunting and ceremonial banners along parts of the Procession Route Live entertainment from local groups throughout the town centre. Members of the Royal Family will be arriving from 11.20am, entering the chapel via the Galilee Porch.
The Duke of Cambridge and Prince Harry, however, will arrive on foot via the West Steps so they can greet members of the public.
