The Taylor Swift-approved fan theory about her new music video

'... Ready for It?' pits two Taylors against each other - but for what reason?

Taylor Swift's fans love their theories - and the musician's certainly indulged them.

And then some. The music video for her song "...Ready for It?" - a clear homage to Ghost in the Shell - is packed with Easter eggs referencing her personal life, relationship with the media, and other songs.

Its central concept sees two Taylors confront each other: one in a robotic skin suit, the other hooded. The latter's destroyed (she's also revealed to be a robot), while the previously caged Taylor escapes and walks free.

Though there are plenty of fan theories already circulating about the video's meaning, only one - by Fearlesslove13 - has been officially approved by both Swift herself and the video's director, Joseph Kahn.

While many have speculated the video represents a classic battle of good vs. evil, this new theory believes the two Taylors aren't in fact enemies, but represent an old vs. new identity.
