Russell Brand and his girlfriend, socialite Jemima Khan, are suing a masseuse who they claim made false accusations of assault against them.

Szilvia Berki formally complained to police – and the media – that Brand had pushed her when she made a home visit to the couple, according to the Sunday People.

However, the comedian, 39, and Khan, 40, claimed that CCTV footage proved her allegations were false and are launching legal action against her.

Khan had booked the Hungarian holistic worker, 31, on 7 June to give Brand a massage as a birthday present at her £15million luxury home in Oxfordside.

Berki made the complaint to Metropolitan Police a week after after she claimed the alleged incident had taken place.

It was then passed onto Thames Valley Police, who dropped the complaint after finding no substantiating evidence.

A friend of the couple told the Sunday People said: "Jemima and Russell intend to sue her because it has become hurtful."

The source added that Berki had sent Khan an email the same night she alleged the incident had taken place, saying that she’d enjoyed meeting the couple and confirmed that she had arrived at her home in Wimbledon safely.

"We received a report from the Metropolitan Police that a woman had been assaulted on 7 June at a private address," a Thames Valley Police spokesman said:

"An investigation was carried out and in the absence of necessary evidence we were unable to proceed further."

Since then, Berki has further complained about the incident to the Independent Police Complaints Commission and set up an online petition. So far, it has received just one signature.

Both Brand and Khan vehemently deny all allegations.
