A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a crane driver's body was found in his burnt out car.

Detectives from Hampshire's Major Investigation Team (HMIT) arrested a 25-year-old Southampton man in Rome yesterday, with the help of Italian police, on suspicion of the murder of Agim Hoxha.

A Hampshire Constabulary spokeswoman said officers from HMIT have been working tirelessly on the investigation since April 10, when the body of 29-year-old Mr Hoxha was found in his car in Chilworth on the outskirts of Southampton.

Arrangements are being made with the Italian authorities to have the man escorted back to the UK from Italy, where he will be questioned by detectives on his arrival in Hampshire.

Last month Afrin Lleshi, 36, of Shirley Road, Southampton, was remanded in custody at Southampton Magistrates' Court charged with perverting the course of justice. He will next appear at Southampton Crown Court in June.

Anyone with information about the car or any other information about the death of Mr Hoxha should call the operation Wedgewood Team at Hulse Road on 101, or call Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
