Chelsea vs Tottenham: 'We trust Loic Remy and Didier Drogba' to cover Diego Costa absence, says Jose Mourinho

Jose Mourinho is convinced Chelsea's perfect season won't be in danger just because Diego Costa is suspended against Tottenham on Wednesday night.

Costa is Chelsea's top scorer with 11 League goals this term but is suspended after picking up his fifth yellow card of the season during the 0-0 draw at Sunderland.

Mourinho will choose between 36-year-old forward Didier Drogba or £10.5m summer signing Loic Remy, who has started just three games since joining from QPR, to replace him.

But Mourinho isn't concerned and told the Evening Standard: "It (Costa's ban) doesn't affect us. We don't speak about Diego.

"We trust Remy and Drogba the same way we trust Diego. It's our way of work - forget Diego we trust the other two."

Chelsea lead Manchester City at the top of the table by six points despite suffering a minor setback against Sunderland at the weekend.

And Mourinho says the result hasn't affected the players in a negative way before the London derby.

He added: "Training has been normal. What do you want the team do or to feel when the team is doing the perfect season - top of the League, top of the group in the Champions League, Quarter Finals of the Capital One Cup, not losing one match for four months?

"The team has to feel very, very well and when the defeat arrives, I think we have to feel exactly the same way. We are doing things very, very well and it's not a bad result when the bad result arrives and won't change our self-belief or self-esteem."
