Blac Chyna trial: Kim Kardashian testifies

A California jury has sided with members of the Kardashian and Jenner family and rejected former reality TV star Blac Chyna’s multi-million dollar lawsuit against them.

No members of the famed family were in court to hear the verdict as they were all “at some gala” in New York, the clerk was told by their lawyers, according to TMZ.

The jury ruled that the women, who were all attending the 2022 Met Gala on Monday night, had not defamed Ms Chyna and declined to award her any damages.

Ms Chyna, whose real name is Angela Renee White, had alleged that four members of the Kardashian and Jenner family made false statements that she physically assaulted their brother and Chyna’s former fiancé, Rob Kardashian.

And she claimed that the allegations led to the cancellation of the former couple’s reality show, and the loss of income from television work, club appearances, and social media.

The 33-year-old had sued Kris Jenner, Kim Kardashian, Khloe Kardashian and Kylie Kardashian for $40m loss of earnings and more than $60m in future earnings.

A Los Angeles Superior Court judge ruled last week that lawyers for Ms Chyna had shown no evidence that Kim Kardashian said anything defamatory about her and dismissed the defamation claim against her.

Rob Kardashian testified during the trial that during a celebration of the couple’s reality TV show Rob & Chyna being renewed in December 2016, she allegedly put a gun to his head twice, tried to strangle him with a phone cord and attacked him with a metal rod.

Her lawyers told the jury that her client had never hit him with a rod or put a phone cord around his neck. But Ms Chyna admitted she had playfully brandished Mr Kardashian’s gun.

Ms Chyna, dated musician Tyga, 32, from 2011 to 2014. He then dated Kylie Jenner, 24, on and off from 2014 to 2017, while Ms Chyna began dating Rob Kardashian, 35, in 2016.

She shares 9-year-old son King with Tyga and 5-year-old daughter Dream with Mr Kardashian.
