Baywatch remake: Pamela Anderson thinks the movie reboot is a bad idea

She may be the undisputed queen of slow-mo beach running, but Pamela Anderson is unimpressed with plans for a big screen Baywatch remake.

The hit TV series about a group of LA lifeguards became one of the most-watched shows in the world during the Nineties and now, Zac Efron and Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson are set to star in a cinema reboot.

Anderson, who played CJ Parker in the original, has not been asked to reprise her role but frankly, she could not be less interested.

"No one appreciates the remakes," the 48-year-old actress and model reportedly told TMZ, adding that the Nineties was a "simpler, sweeter" time for television.

Anderson's co-star David Hasselhoff is believed to be in negotiations for the remake, with reports suggesting that he is wanting a higher salary than producers are offering.

The plot is expected to be comedic, albeit with a serious undertone about saving a beach from environmental destruction at the hands of an oil tycoon.

Johnson will star as a by-the-book lifeguard who is forced to team up with a rebellious youngster, played by Efron.

Altogether now, "Some people stand in the darkness...".
