The biennial telethon will take place on Friday 19 March

Comic Relief’s Red Nose day is back for its 35th year, with a live telethon set to take place on Friday 19 March.

While the event might look a little different this time, its organisers have promised the appeal will go ahead, which means we’re just weeks away from being treated to a night of music, hilarious sketches and one-off comedy specials to raise money for a good cause.

Red Nose Day, which takes place every other year, is a national fundraising event that sees celebrities and members of the public take part in to help raise money for those struggling both in the UK and abroad.

For 2021, all donations will go towards tackling issues such as homelessness, hunger, domestic abuse and mental health problems, all of which have been exacerbated by the Covid-19 pandemic.

With lockdown and social distancing measures in place for the foreseeable, organising your own fundraising event might be off the cards but there is another way you can get involved and it’s easy – just go shopping.

Every year, Comic Relief launches a range of merchandise you can buy to help contribute, including its famous red noses, which are now 100 per cent plastic free and plant based. Other items available for 2021 are pin badges, aprons, soft toys, drinks bottles and special Pixar T-shirts for both children and adults.

Here, we’ve rounded up everything you can get your hands on this Red Nose Day to help support the biennial charity event.
