Theo Walcott to Manchester City: Pep Guardiola 'puts Arsenal striker on short list'
The incoming manager is an admirer of the England international
Theo Walcott is on a potential list of Manchester City summer signings at the behest of incoming coach Pep Guardiola, according to a report.
The Evening Standard claim that Guardiola has requested that Manchester City monitor Walcott's situation at Arsenal. The current Bayern Munich manager is understood to be an admirer of the 27-year-old.
It's felt that a well timed move for the England international this summer could see them snatch Walcott away from the Emirates, despite him only agreeing a four-year deal at Arsenal last summer. According to the Standard, he is among a number of players baffled at his treatment from manager Arsene Wenger in recent weeks.
His form this season has been disappointing. After being the preferred starter in the centre of attack at the start of the season, Walcott didn't do enough to maintain the position. He's scored just five Premier League goals this term.
If Walcott were to move from Arsenal to Manchester City he would be on a path well travelled. Gael Clichy, Samir Nasri, Bacary Sagna, Emmanuel Adebayor and Kolo Toure have all traded their red jersey for sky blue in recent years.
