Are you the kind of person that smothers your food in threatening levels of seriously spicy sauce? Then you’ll be glad to hear that Morrisons have launched the hottest supermarket pizza in the UK.

Just in time for Halloween the “Hotter than Hell” pizza promises to put some fire in your belly with a dish that features some of the world’s spiciest chillies.

The spiciest of which is the British grown Naga which has a Scoville rating of up to 1 million; that’s 200 times spicier than Tabasco sauce and Jalapeños and seven times hotter than a Vindaloo.

They’re so searing that some Naga chilli varieties are said to be hotter than pepper spray while others have even been used to develop tear-gas hand grenades.

Should you accept the Naga chilli challenge you can expect to devour a sizzling combination of sliced and crushed Naga – seeds included – sliced Jalapeños, pulled steak, chicken and a chilli cheese crumb.

The supermarket advises that while the pizza is aimed at chilli lovers, for others it will extremely painful to eat.

“Those who take on the challenge can first expect the tongue to go numb and talking will become difficult. Then a burning sensation will start in the mouth and continue down the throat, whilst eyes and nose will start to run.”

“The sensation will last for 15 minutes - after which some people may feel euphoric as hot chillies are known to generate an endorphin rush.”

A must-try for spicy food fans, the 10-inch stone-baked pizza is so extreme that Morrisons have recommended only people over the age of 16 take on the challenge.
