Emma Stone has given birth to her first child with husband Dave McCary, according to reports.

The Spiderman actor reportedly welcomed her newborn on Saturday 13 March in Los Angeles, according to TMZ, but it’s not yet known whether she had a boy or a girl.

The actor and McCary, a comedian, met in 2016 when Stone hosted an episode of Saturday Night Live, which McCary was working on.

The couple announced their engagement in December 2019 on social media, with McCary posting a photograph of the duo, with Stone holding her hand up to the camera so you could see her engagement ring.

Stone has been notoriously private about her personal life in interviews.

However, in 2018, she told Elle that she was keen to one day get married and have children.

“My perspective about kids has changed as I’ve gotten older,” she said.

“I never babysat or anything. As a teenager, I was like, ‘I’m never getting married, I’m never having kids’. And then I got older and I was like, I really want to get married, I really want to have kids.”

Stone went on to say how, before her 30th birthday, she realised the value that her friends have in her life.

“I think friendship is pretty much everything,” she told the publication.

“You realise that your friendships, the people who go with you into these next phases of your life—you’re choosing your family.”

The La La Land actress’s pregnancy was revealed after she was pictured in The Daily Mail going on a walk with a friend in Los Angeles, where she appeared to be cradling a baby bump.

The pictures, published on 4 January, did not include any confirmation from the actress, who is said to have married McCary in a secret ceremony last year.
