Chess challengers
The English grandmasters Nigel Short and Michael Adams have been drawn against Boris Gulko (US) and Sergei Tiviakov (Russia) respectively in the quarter-finals of the Professional Chess Association world championship. The eventual winner meets Garry Kasparov in 1995.
