The eyes of the world will be on the Capella hotel in Singapore tomorrow, where US President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un will meet for a historic round of talks.

Located on Sentosa Island, this luxury resort off the southern coast of Singapore is surrounded by 30 acres of lush grounds and gardens.

Sentosa boasts a number of pristine beaches, golf courses and other attractions. Peacocks roam freely around the island and can be spotted at the hotel.

A 300m causeway bridge connects Sentosa, Singapore’s entertainment district, to the main island.

The five-star Capella has 112 rooms, suites, villas and manors within its landscaped surroundings and each villa and manor comes with a private plunge pool, outdoor showers and bathtubs.

Guests can also rejuvenate at the award-winning Auriga spa, which offers a range of treatments, including two couple suites.

The hotel prides itself on its fusion of East-meets-West style, which melds a colonial exterior with a contemporary interior. Upon arrival at the resort, guests are greeted in two restored British colonial bungalows, which date back to the 1880s.

President Trump and Kim Jong-un will be spoilt for choice when it comes to selecting a meeting venue befitting their status. Options include the Grand Ballroom, featuring Singapore’s first circular ballroom incorporating a glass-dome skylight and, at its centre, a glass sculpture by Nikolas Weinstein, and the Gallery, which includes large floor to ceiling windows from which to admire panoramic views of Sentosa Island.

As the pair are rumoured to be meeting one-on-one, with only translators present, it’s possible that they may appreciate more privacy than the main hotel affords. The two Colonial Manors are standalone private properties, which would help ensure conversation between these two controversial world leaders remains confidential.
