The Tottenham Hotspur coach Tim Sherwood has played down reports linking him with the vacant Blackburn Rovers job, despite being the bookies' favourite.

"I've got a great job where I am. There isn't anything to consider," Sherwood said. "I'm happy at the football club."

Blackburn currently sit fourth in the Championship after a 1-1 draw at Charlton on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Gianfranco Zola praised Watford forward Troy Deeney after his winner in a 3-2 victory at Huddersfield. Deeney, appearing after being released 77 days into a 10-month prison sentence for affray, scored a late penalty for the Hornets' first win since late August.

"For me he was outstanding," Zola said. "He did not have much fuel left towards the end but he never gave up."

Cardiff City manager Malky Mackay hailed his side's 3-0 win over Blackpool as their best of the season.

"They are most people's favourites to win the league with the squad they have but we scored three goals, created a lot of chances and kept a clean sheet," Mackay said.
