Slovakia faces Hungarian veto

Slovakia's membership of the Council of Europe faced a Hungarian veto yesterday over the country's treatment of its Hungarian minority, AP reports from Strasbourg. Officials said this also threatened membership of the Czech Republic which the Council of Europe wants to admit in tandem with Slovakia.
