Mitterrand surgery
Paris - President Francois Mitterrand had a successful operation to remove a prostate obstruction yesterday, nearly two years after undergoing surgery to remove a prostate cancer, his personal physician said. Officials said Mr Mitterrand, 77, was conscious after the operation and able to carry out his presidential duties. Reuter
