Dan Lydiate. With a concussion injury to Sam Warburton, Lydiate steps up to take the captain's armband. Alun Wyn Jones, the other usual captain contender, has also been ruled out to injury so Lydiate, who captained Wales once before against EP Kings in 2014 and the Lions in 2013 against Melbourne Rebels, will take the lead. The 2012 Six Nations Player of the Tournament is looking to settle himself into the squad once again since he has had to complete with Justin Tipuric this season.

Remember when…
Wales scored their all-time record against Italy? 2015, the final day of the Six Nations and it was all to play for. Ireland, England and Wales were all contesting for the title. Points difference would be the deciding factor and Wales had to play first and hope. They gave their best shot and put 61 points past Italy, scoring eight tries, including a hat trick by George North.

2. The number of victories Italy have had against the Welsh, both of these matches took place in Rome, in 2003 and 2007. A single draw occurred in 2006 at the Millennium Stadium, but the home scalp of Wales has so far eluded the Italians.

Hallam Amos: Amos made his debut for the Newport Gwent Dragons in 2011 against Wasps in the Anglo-Welsh Cup, aged just 17 years and 28 days. To date, he has scored 85 points in 64 matches. In January 2013, Amos made his U20’s debut in the U20’s Six Nations championship, scoring two tries in six appearances. He made his senior debut in 2013 against Tonga and has only managed five caps as he did not play again for Wales until the World Cup warm up tests against Ireland last summer.
