The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh give an evening reception for Members of the Diplomatic Corps at Buckingham Palace. The Duke of Edinburgh, Senior Fellow, presents the Royal Academy of Engineering MacRobert Award at Buckingham Palace; as President, chairs a meeting of the Royal Mint Advisory Committee, followed by lunch, at St James's Palace; visits the Margaret Pyke Memorial Trust, 73 Charlotte Street, London W1; and receives Honorary Fellowship of the Institute of Management Services at a reception at the House of Lords, London SW1. The Duke of Gloucester, Grand Prior, the Order of St John, visits the St John Council, Douglas, Isle of Man; and attends the Royal Concert (a fund-raising event for musical charities), at the Royal Albert Hall, London SW7. The Duchess of Gloucester, Patron, Women Caring Trust (for the children of Northern Ireland), attends a dinner and opera evening at Lincoln's Inn, London WC2. Princess Alexandra opens the new Sports Development and Computer Rooms at the Tiffin Girls' School, Richmond Road, Kingston upon Thames, Surrey; and attends a reception and concert for the British Skin Foundation at the Drapers' Hall, London EC2.
Changing of the Guard
The Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment mounts the Queen's Life Guard at Horse Guards, 11am; F Company Scots Guards mounts the Queen's Guard, at Buckingham Palace, 11.30am, band provided by the Irish Guards.
