Rick Stockstill
Head Coach
|
Rick Stockstill, a two-time Sun Belt Conference Coach of the Year recipient, has elevated the Blue Raider program both on and off the field during his six seasons at the helm. During his short tenure, the Blue Raiders have captured a league title, won the 2009 New Orleans Bowl, made three bowl games in six years, earned two public recognition awards from the NCAA for APR success, appeared on national television a record and Sun Belt Conference-best 18 times, and produced six of the top eight crowds in Floyd Stadium history.

Tyrone Nix
Co-Defensive Coordinator/ Linebackers

Tyrone Nix, one of the most respected coaches in the country, begins his first season at Middle Tennessee. Nix will serve as co-defensive coordinator and linebackers coach on Rick Stockstill’s staff.

Steve Ellis
Co-Defensive Coordinator/ Cornerbacks

Steve Ellis, who spent his first two years as cornerbacks coach and special teams coordinator for the Blue Raiders, was elevated to defensive coordinator in January 2011. Ellis, who will have the title of co-defensive coordinator in 2012, will also remain as the cornerbacks coach for the defense.

Buster Faulkner
Offensive Coordinator/ Quarterbacks

Buster Faulkner begins his second season on Rick Stockstill’s staff and first as the programs offensive coordinator after being elevated to the post in February 2012. Faulkner will also serve as quarterbacks coach for the second straight season.

David Bibee

David Bibee is in his second stint at Middle Tennessee, having joined Rick Stockstill’s staff in 2008 after two years at Chattanooga. Bibee will be in charge of the Blue Raider safeties for the fifth straight season.

Matt Moore is in his first season at Middle Tennessee as a member of Rick Stockstill’s staff. Moore will coach the offensive tackles and tight ends while also holding the title of running game coordinator.

Glen Elarbee
Offensive Guards/ Centers

Glen Elarbee, who played on Middle Tennessee’s first FBS team in 1999, begins his first season on Rick Stockstill’s staff where he will coach the offensive guards and centers. Elarbee is in his second stint for the Blue Raiders after being the tight ends coach for MT in 2005.

Wide Receivers/ Recruiting Coordinator

A former player under head coach Rick Stockstill, Justin Watts is coaching his seventh season at Middle Tennessee as the program's wide receivers coach and recruiting coordinator. Watts came to Murfreesboro after spending three years at Chattanooga.

Brent Brock
Running Backs

Brent Brock, a head coach in the Georgia high school ranks for 14 years and a former teammate of head coach Rick Stockstill, will be beginning his seventh season at Middle Tennessee with the 2012 campaign. Brock is in his first full year coaching the running backs after serving in that role the final seven games of 2011.

Joe Cauthen
Defensive Line/ Special Teams Coordinator

Joe Cauthen is in his second season as a member of Rick Stockstill’s staff at Middle Tennessee. Cauthen, who coached linebackers and was the special team’s coordinator in 2011, will handle the defensive line in 2012. He also remains as the special team’s coordinator.

Strength Coach

Jason Spray has climbed the ladder of success rapidly since his collegiate playing career at Middle Tennessee, and he continues to exemplify the tremendous work ethic that made him a decorated gridiron standout for the Blue Raiders. Spray was elevated to head football strength coach in January 2012.

Chris Matusek
Director of Football Operations

Chris Matusek, a four-year letterman in football at Middle Tennessee, is in his 10th year as a full-time employee with the program. Matusek spent the first two years as the program’s equipment manager before being elevated to administrative assistant in June 2005, a post he held for two years.
